The Duke of Wellington fast became my favourite local pub very quickly. The choice of ales is fantastic as is the food menu .Perfect pub food and quick service too.
Such a nice place to sit in on either a really cold wintery sunday or a hot summers day outside. Quite a reasonably priced venue which adds to its charm.

A journey to Dalston to a restaurant called Shanghai, is a chance to be treated to a mix of East London tradition and fine cuisine. The chefs have kept with the traditional Chinese cuisine, but have also included modern dishes and taste combinations for the more adventurous customer.
The karaoke rooms add a bit extra than your usual restaurant, especially if you have sampled a few of the wines with your meal!

I have been to the dolphin for a game of pool and quiet drink, a late-night dance, a snatch of karaoke, and to watch the football, all on different occasions, or at times all on the same night! It has that versatile feel with no pressure or pretense but a dirty fun bar to hang out in. It doesn't matter if you spill your drink and you wont get frowned on if you grab the microphone - in fact it is all part and parcel. This is an unassuming basic take away shop that excels in reasonably priced, decent chinese take away food. I would recommend the chicken and cashew nut but stay clear of the duck which is quite fatty. Ive been wanting to try this restaurant for a while after having been recommended it by friends and i was not disappointed.I went with my girlfriend and ordered too much food which was actually a good thing because it meant we got to sample more of the menu. The fish dish was amazing as was the duck noodle soup. The menu is vast and i will be going back there to work my way through.

Having read that this restaurant is based on eco friendly concepts i decided to give it a try. We arrived to a well designed and a very new feeling restaurant perched on the canal with homegrown vegetables outside so was slightly suprised to find the menu populated with such extreme meat dishes. I decided to try the Lambs brain and cheek stew! This dish was actually an experience worth trying and the knowledge that everything was sourced so ethically made it all the more digestible.Having read that this restaurant is based on eco friendly concepts i decided to give it a try. Since the recent-ish refurb this place has massively risen in my estimation. They have really turned round a tired, local pub into a new trendy hotspot with good music, people and service. I started training with Murat 3 months ago in order to slim for my wedding and I have been thrilled with the results, as I have literally lost inches from my waist, arms, legs, hips and bottom. Last Friday I had my wedding dress fitting and my first reaction was to tell the shop assistant that the dress was too small, but it fitted beautifully. I could not believe the person that I saw in the mirror and it was lovely to realize my dream of being a slim bride.

The great thing about training with Murat is that he knows that we all experience highs and lows in our training, but he motivates you onwards, either by pushing your training to the next step when you are on a high, or listening and helping you to overcome the problem when you are on a low. It has been fun training with Murat and we have had many laughs, but the results have also been excellent. He even helped me get through my first marathon and I thought that would be impossible!

Marc, is the owner of Idol hair and has been cutting and colouring my Hair since 1997, I am very fussy and expect the best and that is what Marc and his team deliver. I walk in and say to Marc do what you need to and I always walk out happy. I have a 3 year old daughter and Marc has been cutting her hair since she was 1 year old, Isabella loves sitting in the chair and feeling grown up. What I like about Idol hair is that most of the team have been with Marc for at least 5 years and over, The team are funky and Friendly and the Salon has a great buzzy atmospehere. I have to mention Stef who does the best hair wash and head massage, it is one of those where you don't want it to end. I signed up to this health centre about 2 years ago and have experienced nothing but a professional service delivered with a nice, friendly approach. They have always given me appointments quickly and the attention I received was to my satisfaction entirely. I have booked myself a hair appointment with a hairdresser called Apple, after seeing what a great job she did with my sisters hair. She does half head highlights and a cut and blow-dry all for Â£55 which is amazing value, especially as the last place I went to was a Tony and Guy which was an appalling experience, and cost more than double! I love this place - I hardly ever get take-away but I am partial to a good fish and chips every now and again. They are reasonable priced and deliver fish and chips and mushy peas of a good, solid standard in massive portions. I went here with my boyfriend who is a real meat lover so while I expected him to have a great time i was not so sure as an ex-vegetarian how I would enjoy the cuisine. I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised - I found my steak really enjoyable - and they had this amazing side of butterbeans that we got the recipe for afterwards from the chef!
