Dove Free House
Reviews for Dove Free House
Love the Dove
The things i love about the dove are its wooden rustic interior, with candlelit tables and a beautiful mural on the ceiling that you might not at first notice. the extensive selection from lager to belgian beers will appeal to everyone, ultimately this is a great boozer right in the heart of broadway market that feels more real and less pretentious than the other drinking holes in that area!
The Dove is one of the pillars of Broadway market, it is located right in the thick of it and is always a welcoming beacon when in need of a bloody mary, roast dinner or Belgian beer. They have outdoor seating on the street and don’t be scared to jump in on another crowds table - everyone is really friendly - and if you live in the area there is bound to be at least 5 other people you know stroll by due to its location. The decor inside is all wood and open fires and candles - great setting for a game of scrabble (a selection of board games provided)and a cosy pint. They even have a Thai restaurant attached - I love Thai, so it gets my thumbs up!
good pub
Another great Hackney pub. It's really is fun, and has lots of great beers. Quite busy on the weekends though.
My local pub
This is the place I claim as my local pub. Great selection of connaisseur beer/lager on tap, including my favourite Fruili beer. It's far less pretentious than Cat & Mutton, at least you don't get the Lady Gaga catwalk showdown here.
I had Sunday roast here once, the serving was big but taste wasn't as great as it looks. With so many choices of eateries around Broadway Market, I wouldn't eat here. But this is a place for a pint with your friends.
I like their wooden décor, quite roomy at the lower level. Also has a variety of board games, and each table was candlelit. It's usually more crowded outside than the inside. It also has a quite different designed unisex bathroom.
Fantastic pub!
The Dove is a great pub with a relaxed and rustic atmosphere. It's right on Broadway Market, so it's great to pop in for a drink on a Saturday afternoon when the market is on or in the evening. It's always a friendly crowd and there's a huge selection of beers and great guest ales.
My partner and I frequent the restaurant as well-- we seem to have become regulars as the food is so good and the restaurant staff extremely welcoming and friendly. I specificly recommend their selection of burgers and salmon fishcakes. The price is a little higher than cheap pub food, but you're getting good quality for it-- completely worth it. I definitely recommend The Dove!
The dove
Located at the fantastic Broadway Market, this bar is a local and trendy spot. They have excellent Belgian beer and also good food. Last time I have a really good Thai curry...(can be a bit pricy though) The atmosphere inside is a bit dark so better when you can sit outside.
The place to go if you like real ales and beer
Went here for the first time in the snow with my friends who couldnt get to work. The place was busy and felt a bit like a bar in a ski station.
Staff were busy but friendly and the sausages were fab!
Will definatley go there again. A must if you want something different and real in a very themed market.
SUNDAY ROASTS ARE FAB TOO !
Apparently meant to be amazing for lagers, I don't like them though so have never really noticed.
The pint of chips is good and the attached restaurant serves up nice pub food with a slight Thai twist.
